I love the holidays. Its true…. I’m indeed one of THOSE people. The people who love to look at the Christmas lights on Candy Cane Lane, wrapping presents, writing holiday cards, putting up the Christmas tree while listening to endless renditions of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” while drinking hot cider. I just love it. And part of the joy for me of the season is being able to support local crafters and artists; giving a gift of handmade love and beauty to my family and friends is so magical. And that is why I am over the moon excited to be putting together the Happy Girl Holiday Craft Market.
This Sunday Happy Girl Kitchen Co. will be teaming with local artisans selling their beautiful goods such as handmade jewelry, local artwork, ceramics, beeswax candles, and so much more. Top it all off with live music, yummy food, and our amazing community… well, I think its going to be a winner! Can’t wait to see you all there, supporting our neighbors and what they do best: creating, celebrating, and bringing about joy!
Come one, come all to sample my whole grain baked goodies, peruse local art, and enjoy live folky music. Too good to be true? Apparently not…

Ah, yes. We wed. And it was fantastic. It was so many things: a whirlwind, a love fest, a reunion, an artistic build up, and a community tear down. I married the man of my dreams, and together we forge on to create our new lives, together, with our two kids, building a life the best we know how.
I don’t think I ever understood the importance, the impact, the magnitude a wedding can have. The bringing together of people, the celebration of love, the devotion of two people to one another, is such a beautiful moment in time. And for me, it was perfect.
I feel such great amounts of gratitude to the people who made our wedding special. People who simply wanted the best for us, to see our dreams a reality, and to see Ben and myself happy. I feel so lucky to be able to be given the chance to feel the thanks that I do. A feeling I am just sitting with recently, as I reflect on the event whilst putting away its remanents and writing its thank yous. So thankful for a life ever changed and the man who has completed my soul.
Love to all.
Hey everyone, I hope you all had a fantastic Memorial Day weekend. We entertained ourselves by beach time, stumbling upon 10 cent Sunday cocktails, wedding advancement!, and pool time with the kiddos. Long weekends are indeed amazing.
I am beyond excited to share with you a couple of new creative pursuits and additions.
1. Gluten Free & Vegan Snickerdoodles. (added to the Etsy shop!)
These guys are one of the most popular items at the cafe, and I am excited to make them available online! Yay. They are a wonderful treat for anyone who has dietary restrictions, AND they taste AMAZING. Tooting my own horn? Guilty.
Saturday afternoon I held my first cupcake tasting for a wedding happening in the later part of the year… it was so fun! I made various types of gluten free cupcakes for the bride, her fiance, and her parents…they were ecstatic! Being able to connect and share with people made me so happy, especially when their feedback was so nice and encouraging.
These new events and happenings lately have been keeping me more present, more engaged, and excited for creating in general, and what is to come. Yay! So excited!
Hope this is finding you all so happy and enjoying the beginnings of summer…
Greetings Everyone. I hope you are all doing well. I’m so excited to announce the launch of a new venture… my Etsy shop! I’ve been eyeing this site for such a long time. I love the opportunity it gives the hand-made world to easily promote, share, and tout their creations. I just love it. Its the first place I look for my wedding knick knacks, birthday & holiday gifts, et plus.
I’ve put up Bliss Balls so far, a stand in for granola/power bars, healthy dessert/snack…..they are so nutritiously delicious. They’ve been such a hit at Happy Girl that I’ve decided to make them available (to order!) to people beyond the Monterey area. I’m excited about the packaging as well…. design is so fun! Anywho, click on over to the shop and check it out. 🙂 Feedback welcome! Coming very very soon (like, today): Superseed Granola. Gush.
Our wedding is getting closer and closer and the details keep coming together. We put together and started addressing invites last night, my stepdaughter to be just got her beautiful bridesmaid’s dress, first dance song have been shuffling between old classics and the kids’ input (“Thrift Shop”), and I’m finalizing some of the design. And Im just too excited not to share a peak…just a tiny one…
I hope you are all having the best day 🙂
